We held our Gatherings last night. If you missed it, we are sending home information about Fall Festival. Starting in November we will begin studying five countries - Afghanistan, Australia, Egypt, Peru, and South Africa. If you would like to come in and help us learn more about a particular country, please contact Kim or Betsy.

This has been a fun and busy week. On Monday, we did a special measuring activity which combined both math classes. We continue to work on measurement with Kim and Betsy. We used candy and shoes to measure. We measured inside the classroom and outside. We talked about when to use inches and feet or centimeters and meters. We also stressed the importance of and practiced estimating measurements.

We are looking at maps. We made a map and hid spelling words in it for Kim to find. We talked about symbols and legends and reviewed north, south, east, and west.

We continue to work on observation skills and how to sort the information we obtain. We looked at how people cross their arms and legs and how their clasp their hands

Our class name skit was great! We are the Dreamcatchers 2010. When students are in Kim's class, they are the Dreamers. When students are in Betsy's class, they are the Catchers.
