In Kim's math class, we continue to work on geometry. We are reviewing shapes, including octagon, triangle, square, hexagon, pentagon, trapezoid, angle, ray, and parallelogram. We will conclude this unit next week by building Haunted Houses using a variety of shapes and checking the perimeter and area. Students will choose from a variety of supplies. Please make sure your child sends in a shoebox.

We created a story web yesterday. These webs should help students with their homework. Students are asked to write about Fall Festival. This writing will be due on Wednesday, October 27th.

We also wrote stories using story prompts. Some of the prompts we chose from include:

• our class was abducted by spaceships
• my sister's teddy bear is alive
• something is living in my mailbox
• how animals protect themselves
• my best friend is an alien

Wednesday, October 27th is our bake sale. Please bring in treats. Last month we raised $26 for Angels of Assisi.
