Writer's Workshop

We began Writer's Workshop today. We had three different activities to work on - a parts of speech mad lib, a spelling activity where we cut our words out of magazines, and actual writing. During Writer's Workshop we will focus on writing and how to become better writers, including:

• knowing how to spell more words
• how to make paragraphs
• capitalizing words correctly
• parts of speech
• editing
• ask "what if" questions
• practice
• what to add to make it longer
• complete sentences
• spacing between words
• correct punctuation
• coming up with more ideas to write about
• learn more words
• not letting the blank paper slow you down
• learn cursive
