Egyptian Mysteries by Liam

For Egypt we have two mysteries. Was Hatshepsut a wicked stepmother or a nice pharaoh? Is there a curse on King Tut's tomb?

King Tut died probably from an injury on his leg. In 1922 when archaeologists went in to his tomb, many of the team that found the tomb died.

Hatshepsut became pharaoh. When she died, her stepson destroyed her statues and cartouches.

Today, we made cookies to look like Egypt, Australia, Afghanistan or Peru (the countries we have been studying). (The picture is of Peru.) We also carved soap into shapes from the tombs. We matched Egyptian gods and goddesses's pictures and description. We did a map of Egypt's neighbors and the Nile River. (I measured the Nile River with string as 4,226 miles. It is actually between 4,130-4,184.) We played a game on the computer (http://egypt.mrdonn.org/games.html).
